chekov

nicholas moved to shanghai in 2002 from sydney, where he was based since 1993. nicholas left his hometown of canberra at the age of 21 after completing jazz studies at the australian national university. he was initially invited to sydney to perform with pianists mike nock and sean wayland. more recently he has been bandleader and drummer with the big small trio at "the view" lounge in the sands hotel, macau, while freelancing in hong kong.
